Waveform
The waveform represents all the tracks of the album.
The waveform clearly shows the compression of the dynamics compared to Vinyl (Ed1) and Streaming (Ed3). With a DR7, you can see some samples in the yellow areasof the track where the signal is compressed.
Spectrum
The curve represents the average frequency distribution over the sample “Alone”. Here the two curves are identical between the Ed2 CD and the Ed3 Streaming.
Spectrogram
Spectrogram is another representation of frequency versus time of a track. For each channel (right and left), horizontal axis represents time, and the vertical axis represents frequency. The amplitude is represented by the intensity (brightness) of the color of each point in the image.
The spectrogram, the yellow arrow as for the spectrum , reveals the limit around 20 kHz due to the digital mastering. Beyond 20 kHz (whitearrow), there is no signal represented by the black lines.
